Sicily Business Forum and other news coming soon
"Sicily is our land and here we want to build a pole of innovation capable of leaving a trace".
This sentence sums up the vision of employer branding and the idea of entrepreneurial culture of REIWA's founders. It was our founders, Salvo Salerno and Salvatore Occhipinti, CEO and CTO respectively, who pronounced it to describe the project on which the company is investing resources, energy and time.
The announcement of the construction of the innovation hub for industrial mechanics and robotics came at the end of 2022, a year of major milestones that marked the transition from innovative startup to technology SME. The year 2023 started on the same bright trail as before and is preparing to be the year of business international growth, with some major supply contracts already signed with major players in the energy sector and the opening of the Dubai office.
Today our region is paying the consequences of the brain drain, in terms of attracting talent: finding it in Sicily is really difficult, because so many have seized the opportunities they were looking for far from our island.
For our pole in Comiso (RG), we have not yet found all the professionals to complete the team and we would like to have a high percentage of Sicilians among them. And, if it is true that “you can take a Sicilian out of Sicily but you can never take Sicily out of the heart of a Sicilian”, we will leverage precisely this to break through to the best Sicilian talent and involve them.
The search for engineers and STEM professionals continues, so here you can find more details.
Among the first activities in 2023 that go in this direction was the Sicily Business Forum, the event that brought together over 500 entrepreneurs in Catania on Friday 17 March in an inspiring meeting with guests such as Arrigo Sacchi, Paolo Nespoli, Federica Marchionni and Leopoldo Gasbarro.
As sponsors of the event, we donated ten entrance tickets to the brightest young people from the University of Catania's Departments of Economics and Engineering, thanks to the collaboration with lecturers Rosario Faraci, Giovanni Moscato and Mario Cacciato.
The gift was only the first activity put in place to support talent in Sicily. Among the ideas already in the pipeline is that of organising “REIWA Days”, with initiatives and meetings aimed precisely at young undergraduates.
